This webinar is part of ECO Canada’s and the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre’s Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Series and provides a clear, comprehensive overview of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and their growing role in climate action.
Led by project associate Logan Hoyland, the session walks participants through the fundamentals of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles versus electric vehicles (EVs), introduces the full range of EV and hybrid types, and offers a brief history of ZEV development in Canada. The presentation explores hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, breaks down how EV motors work, and clarifies the three levels and four types of charging available today. The webinar concludes with a practical comparison of costs, savings, and environmental impacts between ICE vehicles and EVs, setting the stage for deeper dives in upcoming sessions within the series.
