Susan Power is the Founder and CEO of PowerUp Leadership, a leadership development and facilitation firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With over 20 years of experience, Susan combines deep expertise in facilitation, leadership development, and HR strategy. Her strengths include facilitating strategic planning, leadership retreats, team effectiveness sessions, and programs that enhance executive presence, communication, and collaboration. Her focus is always on delivering inclusive, high-impact experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.Layan’s professional journey includes meaningful work in both the nonprofit and private sectors, where she has contributed to projects centered around leadership development, organizational culture, and community impact. Beyond her work at PowerUp Leadership, Layan continues to give back to her community through volunteer efforts and seeks out opportunities that align with her values of equity, growth, and collaboration. She is deeply committed to creating spaces where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to lead authentically.

Session 2: Giving and Receiving Feedback

This topic will explore how to give and receive feedback in ways that promote equity, psychological safety, and continuous learning. Participants will learn practical strategies for delivering clear, respectful, and identity-aware feedback, while also strengthening their ability to receive feedback with openness and intention. Common barriers such as bias, power dynamics and feedback avoidance will also be addressed and discussed by offering tools to navigate these challenges with confidence.
