For too long, organizations have struggled with the unknowns surrounding sustainability implementation. Although there are ample resources that define social responsibility, recommend metrics to be considered, and advise organizations on how to report sustainability information to stakeholders (e.g. GRI, SASB, AASHE STARS etc.), many organizations are still overwhelmed or frustrated by the lack of practical guidance available for the planning and implementation of a sustainability goal, action plan or program.
The webinar presented a series of case studies that illustrate how a process-based approach can be used to implement sustainability within a number of different sectors. The approach, which has its foundation in the proven and trusted Plan-Do-Check-Act management system framework and guidance on social responsibility as defined by ISO 26000, leads organizations through assessing and prioritizing risk to program development and reporting of results. The case studies presented demonstrate the importance of uniting existing ‘pieces of the sustainability puzzle’ to ensure that sustainability is fully integrated within an organization.
